— Christmas is this weekend. If you’re trying to figure out what to cook, here’s a list of local restaurants and businesses that have specials for the holidays.

Sugar Magnolia Takery (5417 Highway 25, Suite G, 601-992-8110, sugarmagnoliatakery.com)

The holiday menu at Sugar Magnolia Takery includes items such as peanut butter-praline balls; strawberry, blueberry and turtle cheesecakes; cranberry-walnut chicken salad; triple-chocolate, lemon or key-lime Bundt cakes; bourbon balls; meats such as glazed spiral ham, herb-roasted chicken, pork tenderloin, boneless turkey breast; and more. For catering, Sugar Magnolia will take special orders up until Wednesday, Dec. 21, and will be open until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve for pickup.

Olivia's Food Emporium (820 Highway 51, Madison, 601-898-8333, oliviasfoodemporium.com)

For its holiday menu, Olivia’s has a meal plan for 10 to 12 people that includes smoked turkey, cornbread dressing, turkey gravy, green-bean casserole, a dozen rolls and pecan pie. The restaurant also has sides such as macaroni and cheese, baked-potato casserole and deviled eggs; appetizers such as pimiento cheese and black-bean salsa; and breakfast items such as bacon-and-cheese quiche. Olivia’s can also do corporate catering. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, Dec. 20, and picked up on Christmas Eve by 2 p.m.

Cookin' up a Storm (1491 Canton Mart Road, 601-957-1166, cookinupastorm.kitchen)

For its holiday menu, Cookin' up a Storm has sweet-potato casserole; stuffing with sage sausage, apples and pecans; spinach Madeline, roasted seasonal vegetables; corn soufflé; squash casserole; scalloped pineapple; broccoli salad with craisins, pecans, bacon and a sweet dressing; desserts such as a chocolate fudge brownie and a pecan pie; mint-lemonade tea; breakfast items such as mini cinnamon rolls and pecan-pie muffins; and more. The restaurant will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the whole week of Christmas until Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day. For its Christmas catering menu, Crazy Cat has cream-cheese mashed potatoes, green-bean almondine, sweet-corn pudding, wild-mushroom gravy, spinach Madeline, maple bourbon pecan pie, Andes mint chocolate-brownie pie, Milky Way pound cake and more. The Strawberry Cafe has a special holiday family feast package for 10 to 12 people, which includes a choice of a pork loin or glazed boneless ham; cornbread or oyster dressing; a choice of three sides such as four-seasons salad, green-bean casserole, macaroni and cheese, baked apples or potatoes au gratin; homemade cranberry sauce; rolls; and caramel pie. This holiday season, Broad Street has an apricot-ginger cream-cheese Christmast-wreath king cake, which are available until Christmas Eve. The bakery also has desserts such as gluten-sensitive chocolate-chip cookies, gingerbread men, and Hanukkah and Christmas-themed sugar cookies. The catering menu includes main courses such as grilled salmon and fried turkey breast; soups such as curried butternut-squash bisque and BRAVO! tomato-basil soup; salads such as spinach-and-goat cheese salad and a Caesar salad; sides such as Yukon gold mashed potatoes and spinach casserole; and desserts such as gingerbread cheesecake, chocolate cranberry bread, mint-chocolate chip cake, chocolate chess pie and more. On Dec. 21, Seafood R'evolution will host its annual Réveillon Creole Christmas dinner with a menu that will have dishes such as the Twas the Night Before Christmas soup with lump crab meat, spinach and artichokes; the Réveillon salad with red and golden beets, late-fall greens and a cane-syrup vinaigrette; filet of speckled trout; roasted mallard duck with farre dressing, white asparagus and a sauce Forestière; and for dessert, a bûche de Noël with a triple-chocolate gateau noir and crème Anglaise. The dinner is $100 per person and will begin at 6 p.m.

For the holidays, Primos has a holiday catering menu that includes a dinner package for 10 to 12 with a whole turkey or ham; cornbread dressing; giblet gravy; a large vegetable such as a squash casserole; cranberry sauce; a dozen dinner rolls; and a choice of pie such as lemon-ice box or sweet potato. The restaurant also has cheese straws or bursts for parties available in bags, boxes or tins. Customers can buy meats, sides, desserts and breakfast items separately, and the menu has a corporate catering option. Pickup dates are from Dec. 22 until 10 a.m. on Dec. 24. For its holiday menu, Chimneyville has meats such as smoked or fried turkeys, smoked ham, beef brisket, pork ribs and whole smoked chicken. The restaurant also has items such as barbecue sauce, cornbread dressing, giblet gravy, macaroni and cheese, sweet-potato casserole and cranberry sauce; desserts such as Mississippi mud, lemon-ice box or pecan pies; sweet or unsweet tea; and rolls, buns or cornbread. The restaurant can slice meats for $7 extra per item. Chimneyville will be open on Christmas Eve for pickup.

This holiday season, in addition to its regular holiday menu, Whole Foods also has items for Hanukkah such as a Brussels sprouts-and-kale salad; matzo-ball soup; parmesan-and-vegetable latkes; spinach-feta latkes; sweet-and-sour brisket; and challah- and apple-stuffed chicken dinner. For its holiday menu, Grant’s Kitchen will have main courses such as 12- to 14-pound whole turkeys, chicken tetrazzini, chicken and dumplings, pot roast, brown gravy and cranberry sauce; sides such as cornbread dressing, stir-fry vegetables and green peas; prepared salads such as cole slaw and cucumber salad; breads such as dinner rolls and cornbread; and desserts such as pecan, turtle and chocolate-chess pies. The restaurant has a holiday package with seven to 10 servings that includes half of a roasted turkey, gravy, cornbread dressing, a choice of two sides and one pie; and a package with 15 to 20 servings that includes a whole roasted turkey, gravy, cornbread dressing, a choice of two sides and two pies. On Christmas Eve, 1908 will host a Christmas dinner. The menu will have an appetizer of sweet potato-crusted shrimp with creole honey mustard, followed with an arugula salad with chevre, toasted pecans and a spiced cranberry vinaigrette; for the entrée, a grilled t-bone steak with creamed kale, carrot steak fries and apple-sage compound butter for the entrée; and for dessert, an egg-nog crème brulee with a chocolate- and peppermint-dipped pretzel for dessert.
