On the heels of its 50-state governor poll, SurveyUSA -- in a poll not yet approved for consumption by the C-L (just kidding...) -- has released its 50-state Senator poll today. Results? Lott has a 65% approval rating (the same number that New York gives Sen. Hillary Clinton) and Cochran a 63% approval rating. Interestingly, eight of the ten least popular Senators are Republicans, including Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma.
Eight of the ten most popular Senators are Democrats -- and the other two are "liberal" Republicans. The most popular Senator in his home state is Barak Obama of Illinois (72% approve), followed closely by Republicans Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, both of Maine, along with Kent Conrad (ND) and Patrick Leahy (VT), all of whom are in the 71% bracket.

Yes, we like our new Senator here in the Metro-East. (Illinois side of the greater St. Louis area) Republicans promise family values, but deliver tax cuts for the rich. Aint it funny how some of the poorest Mississippians vote Repbublican even though Haley is taking them to the cleaners. But as LBJ once said in an analysis: "If you can make the poorest white man think that he's better than the richest black man, you can pick his pockets and he won't even know it. Hell, give him someone to look down on and he'll empty them[pockets] for you."
