[Verbatim Release] Since 1986, Mississippi's premiere music festival, Jubilee!JAM, has been a symbol of cultural respect, art and musical preservation and one really great time. The Jackson Arts & Music Foundation is proud to announce its continued partnership with TCB Entertainment and the Jackson Convention & Visitors Bureau to bring Mississippi another great year of Jubliee!JAM on Capitol Street in downtown Jackson, Mississippi on June 13th and 14th of 2008.

The Jackson Arts & Music Foundation is committed to promoting greater Jackson's cultural life and celebrating Mississippi's rich artistic and musical heritage in downtown Jackson. The JAM Foundation is best known for mixing high-profile national talent with local artists at diverse community events. In 1995, the organization spun off from its founder, the Jackson Arts Alliance. Since then, the organization has produced a wealth of musical performances, given Jacksonians a taste of the finest regional cuisine and introduced Mississippi to numerous visual artists, in addition to presenting Jubilee!JAM. JAM Foundation President John Hawkins – "Credit for the longevity and success of Jubilee! JAM goes to all of the sponsors, board members and community partners who have been the long-term supporters. Mississippi deserves a world-class festival every year in the Capitol City and we have remained committed to teaming up with partners and resources to build on that idea."

TCB Entertainment is a full-service concert promotion company headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. TCB promotes and produces concerts in various states and in a variety of different venues including Clubs, Fairs & Festivals, Colleges, and Arenas. With over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, TCB will be involved from initial idea inception to the festival's completion. TCB President Jim Green – "TCB Entertainment believes in bringing the
best musical talent to the Mid-South and hopes to remain in partnership with the Jackson Arts and Music Foundation and Jackson Convention and Visitors BureauJubilee!JAM for a long time. The Jackson Convention & Visitors Bureau's mission is to promote Jackson as a premier vacation and meeting destination, and to promote events, attractions, and exhibits that contribute to the quality of life for Mississippians. In 2005, more than 3.1 million travelers visited Jackson, pumping nearly $300 million into the economy, providing jobs for more than 25,000 people and supporting a payroll of $478 million. These visitors and their economic impact underscore the importance of travel and tourism to the economic, social, and cultural well-being of Jackson and the entire state of Mississippi. JCVB Executive Director Wanda Wilson – "Jubilee!JAM has brought almost 40,000 people into downtown Jackson on more than one occasion. It is important that this festival survive and grow. The JCVB is proud to continue its support of this exciting event as it captures the heart and soul of Jackson's next generation. The spirit of this celebration is one more way we can show off what Jackson has to offer visitors."

Jubliee!JAM 2008 will be the 21st large-scale music festival produced by the JAM Foundation. In the past, acts ranging from James Brown to Bob Dylan to Widespread Panic to David Banner to Switchfoot have performed. With the partnership of TCB Entertainment and the Jackson CVB, this event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The 2008 event will be held at the site of its traditional home… Capitol Street.

Funding for an event of this caliber has been raised and additional sponsorships will be sought up to the time of the festival to complete the necessary fundraising for a successful event. Site design is close to finalization and negotiations with bands have been underway for months.

The announcement of the exciting musical lineup and major sponsors will be made at the May 5, 2008 11:00 a.m. press conference at Hal and Mal's.
