Meet Jackson's Democratic Mayoral Candidates

[verbatim] On Saturday, February 28, 2009, Young Democrats of Mississippi (YDMS) will host a candidate forum for all Democratic mayoral candidates in Jackson. The forum will be at 1:00 p.m. at the IBEW Union Hall.

All Democratic mayoral candidates in Jackson have been invited, and, so far the following have confirmed they will attend: Jackson City Council member Marshand Crisler, Hinds County Tax Collector Eddie Fair, Joyce Harper, Senator John Horhn, former Jackson mayor Harvey Johnson and Robert Johnson.

"We are looking forward to asking the candidates questions that are important to young people. Whether you live in Jackson or not, what goes on here affects the entire state," said Parker Wiseman, President of YDMS.

The format will be a moderated panel discussion. Each candidate will be given an opportunity to address the audience, and then audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions.

All members of the public and the media are invited.

Directions to IBEW Union Hall:
- Take I-55 South toward McComb
- Veer Left toward McComb/New Orleans
- Take the Elton Rd. Exit (Exit 88)
- Turn right onto Frontage Road
- IBEW (Electric Workers Union) Building is on Frontage Road at 4767 I-55 S.

Darn! I'm going out of town this weekend. I would love to be there. What are the chances Melton will attend? Will he even be at the debates WAPT will host (sponsored by the Jackson Free Press--had to get that plug in!)?
