During Saturday's Mal's St Paddy's Parade in downtown Jackson, one of the seven people arrested was a city employee with close ties to Jackson Mayor Frank Melton, reports WAPT:
Stephanie Parker Weaver was charged with disorderly conduct, disobeying a police officer and resisting arrest, she said. Police didn't say what led to the charges, but Weaver said she was "wrongfully arrested."
Weaver is a long-time supporter of Jackson's embattled mayor, and was in the courtroom nearly every day of the mayor's recent federal trial. She reportedly worked in human resources for the public works division until last year when she underwent treatment for breast cancer. Parker Weaver told WAPT today that she still works for the city, but did not specify her current job.

IT is my understanding that the officer was only doing his job and that Parker-Weaver insisted that he apparently didn't know who she was. This is the type of mentality that this Administration is known for. "YOU DON'T KNOW WHO I AM" There comes a time when we must respect the authority and positions of others. All police officers are not bad ones who will allow just certain people to break the law. Maybe this was a teachable moment for Stephanie Parker-Weaver and that the lesson learned will spread up and down the melton Administrative ladder. It is apparent that Weaver's concern for the officer not knowing/caring about who she thinks she is was not half as important as her not knowing the scope of his duties and his willingness to follow orders.

She went pretty McKinney on me a couple years back when we were trying to figure out how much she gets paid by the city, and exactly what she did. During the trial, she was pretty nice. I did get the impression at the end when she was dancing in the street over the hung jury that she didn't know that Melton would likely be retried, but that might have just been an impression. She looked surprised when I asked her about that part. She was there a. lot. So were a number of city employees, but she was probably there the most. Don't know if she took off from work for the trial. Oh, and I ran into Bob Hickingbottom in Melton's office with him the day of our interview a couple days after the trial. He came in with Melton and bodyguard Whitehead; said he doesn't still work for the city. Hadn't seen him in a while.

You know, I am glad Parker-Weaver's cancer is gone but I sure do wish she were not part of the people we pay to run the City. It just feels like we pay for his cheerleaders and his campaign staff. Maybe its just me that feels this way. I sure do hope Hickingbottom will not go back on the payroll now that it is campaign time. Woe is me.............
