Lawmakers in the Mississippi House passed a resolution yesterday to extend the current session for 30 days.
The resolution seeks to allow the Legislature to adjourn for a few weeks, and then reconvene in May, reportedly to finish work on the budget for the 2010 fiscal year. The Legislature is looking for additional time to ensure they understand the budgetary implications of the federal stimulus bill.
Legislators could take an additional 30-day extension if necessary under the resolution.
The Senate amended the resolution today, and has returned it to the House for concurrence.

What's up with all of these folks that they can NEVER, EVER get their work done during a regular session. It is so costly to tax payers; however, it is financially rewarding for them. Let's elect members of gov. who can git 'er dun.
