If you've never been to a Fondren After 5 event (what used to be called ArtMix), or even if you have, here's a great reason to come next Thursday: to support the arts in Jackson Public Schools.

Fondren's special spring event—Arts, Eats & Beats—will feature a show and auction of art by Jackson high-school students located in the Duling School building at Fondren Place. The art show starts at 5:30 p.m. April 2, with auction winners announced at 7 p.m.

Parents for Public Schools and the Ask 4 More Arts Collaborative along with Jackson Public Schools' Partners in Education are sponsoring the student show, and the school art departments and the artists will share the auction proceeds equally.

As always, Arts, Eats & Beats will allow visitors a special look into some of the unique boutiques, galleries and restaurants in the Fondren neighborhood, with many locations staying open late just for the event. You can also look forward to live musicians, dancers and more entertainment on the street and indoors. The fun starts at 5, April 2.
