Get your tickets now for tonight's final performance of "The Vagina Monologues" at 9 p.m. and the documentary film "What I Want My Words to Do to You," starting at 7 p.m. at Hal & Mal's, with proceeds going to benefit the Mississippi Coalition Against Violence and the Women's Fund. Tickets are $20 for the play and film, $15 for the play only and $5 for the film only. Go to JFP Tickets for online purchases, or take your chances for SRO spots at the door.
Head to The Auditorium on Saturday for a fabulous night of food and entertainment to benefit the Parents for Public Schools Ask For More Arts initiative. In addition to a three-course meal, live music and an art auction, dancer Nicole Marquez will premiere a solo performance, her first since an accident nearly took her life just over a year-and-a-half ago. Be sure to listen to the JFP Radio interview, too.
You can find a boatload of other things to do this weekend, starting on the JFP Best Bets page. If nothing rocks your world there, go directly to the JFP Events Calendar for the city's most complete, up-to-date list of things to do, see, hear and learn. A Saturday sampling includes book signings, a symphony performance, a fashion showcase, a golf tournament and even an Easter egg hunt.
This weekend's live music lineup is no slouch, either. Whether you're in the mood for country, hip hop, rock 'n' roll (alt., classic, garage, whatever), blues, jazz, classical, or DIY karaoke, the only game in town is the JFP Music Listings page. With all the options listed for your aural pleasure, if you can't find what you need, it might not exist.
And you have to eat, right? Check out the JFP Restaurant Listings and the Menu Guide for the best in the area's many gastronomical delights.
Is something missing? To make sure your event is listed on the JFP calendars, send the information to [e-mail missing] or [e-mail missing], or add your event yourself. It's easy!
