The arrest was made by investigators with the Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force with assistance from the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department, a task force member.
Opiela was transported to the Hinds County Detention Center where he is currently awaiting processing. If convicted of the charges, he faces up to 40 years behind bars. As with all cases, the defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
