RAYMOND – Because of concerns about wind and rain from Hurricane Isaac, Hinds Community College announces the following schedule changes:
Hinds AHS and the Utica Campus will close at 2 p.m., today, Wednesday, Aug. 29.
All night classes at all six locations are cancelled tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 29.
The college will be closed at all six Hinds locations and classes cancelled on Thursday, Aug. 30. The residence halls on the Raymond and Utica campuses will NOT close and the cafeterias will remain open to feed students. Essential personnel only will report to work on Thursday. That includes campus police, security, maintenance and other employees as defined by each location.
All operations are expected to resume as normal on Friday, Aug. 31. All students and employees are advised to check the website http://eagleone.hindscc.edu/ for up-to-date information.
The football season opener against Mississippi Delta Community College has been moved to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1 at Mississippi College in Clinton. Sports updates can be found at www.hindscsports.com.
As previously planned, the college will be closed Monday, Sept. 3 for the Labor Day holiday.
