JFP Top 25: Week 2

Alabama made the biggest statement of the weekend laying the smackdown to Michigan in Dallas. The Crimson Tide made every sportswriter who assumed the SEC would fall back to the back of the pack eat their words.

Except for Michigan, Boise State and Auburn, the top 25 handled their business and won their games. TCU won’t play their first game until this Saturday, so its rank is unaffected.

One common theme played out last week: Few top teams the breezed to victory and, overall, college football teams struggled to win.
