Interesting question, Knowledge. We don't know if this has been done, but we can certainly ask.

Dominic, I always err on the side of candidates getting out there and mixing it up with the public whenever possible. I could certainly see the logic of a strategy that Johnson thinks he can control the campaign by deciding when and where to show up. Strikes me as a gamble, but if polling shows that he is a clear front runner, at least it would make sense. Several campaigns are polling, but won't talk about results. (Sigh.) The general sense I'm getting from the streets is that Johnson's name recognition, at least, has him in the lead, and other candidates are vying with each other to get in the runoff with him. That would probably explain some of the, er, strategery (hey, everyone's talking about Bush again this week!) that other campaigns are using. He also might think it's safe to hang back and let others fight it out, smear each other and define themselves (which some of the campaigns seem to be doing poorly right now). So perhaps his strategy is Napoleon's "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."

It still seems mighty risky, though. I think he should show up every chance he gets. But, hey, that's just me.

See the rest of the campaign finance reports filed to date in the JFP Document Morgue: [jfp.ms/documents][1]

Not yet. We find that they're not great with media requests, unfortunately. But we'll hope.

You're welcome. Sometimes we do a better job than others!

The way we understand it, so far, is that the non-profit IS her campaign committee. And, yes, she should have filed a campaign finance report already.

We'll be reporting more about the legality of the non-profit angle. Stay tuned.

It is different, Melishia, but we're still sorting out particulars. Tyler has left messages for secretary of state to find out if it is legal to do it as a nonprofit. There seems to be nothing illegal about the PAC supporting Lee.

donnaladd says...

Sure, I can add that. Good point.

BTW, John May is Quinn's husband. She just emailed that he is calling Tyler back to discuss. Stay tuned.
