Instance poll revealed that street repairs was the top issue listeners chose (over crime, water/sewer, job creation and maybe another one. I forget!). We will be requesting all results of this poll, by the way. We'll keep you posted.

The mayor's line went dark; said pushed the wrong button. But he's back now.

Interesting: They're doing a poll at the same time. Huh.

Interesting crime question about hearing about crime every time they turn on TV or read the newspaper (clearly not this one).

The mayor pointed out that most of the crimes are between people who know each other, which is true, and that the police have a hard time preventing it. He also talked about a program to get guns out of the hands of felons.

Reporter Tyler Cleveland is tweeting about the town hall @tylercleveland by the way.

Don't be inaccurate, Scott. We are well aware of crime issues here; we just don't believe in boiling down into non-thinking sound and campaign bites.

Here's an issue we dedicated to the crime issue, and what to do about it:

Thanks, Melvin. That's what we see, too. However, there are some candidates who spent money in 2012; that automatically means they need to file a report. We'll be reporting more on this, all.

And remember, please, that we want to post any and all campaign flyers and mailers y'all get. Please drop them at the JFP or scan and send them to: [email protected]

Thanks!

Donna

And Darryl, I'd also like to know what "take care of their own" means, too. That sounds like some not-so-veiled racism, but feel free to explain it and convince us that you're not going down that ugly road. Because, if so, you're going to need to get the hell off this site.
