*As we have said from the beginning, the runoff results are clear: The majority of Mississippians voted for Senator Thad Cochran.*

Well, that certainly isn't true. One could say, perhaps, that the majority of Mississippians who voted in the run-off voted for Senator Thad Cochran, which seems accurate, regardless of whether they were eligible to vote in the run-off or not.

But, technically speaking, only about 7% of Mississippians voted for Thad on run-off night. ;)

Hey JS1976, franchises do offer some benefits in addition to those from corporate owned chains, but it's important to note that many franchises still have stricter rules about who they use as suppliers and how much control they have over the operation of their own business. According to [AMIBA][1], franchises fall somewhere between chains and true independents in their "multiplier effect."

Think Progress came out with this piece today explaining in more depth what the ADF is -- the organization that Greg Scott (quoted above and Tweeting) works for. [Very interesting stuff][1].

Of note is a link to a piece at Good As You, which is said to be [an audio clip of ADF attorney Kellie Fiedorek][2] giving a speech at Stanford in which she praising people who won't serve LGBT customers by invoking the name of Rosa Parks. (One marvels at the mental discipline that must be required to overcome that level of cognitive dissonance just to get the words out.)

@ericbrown: Thanks for the correction; you're right that Byram, while a "town" in many people's estimation, is technically an incorporated city. We'll correct that.

That said, since you've expressed an interest in parsing the language carefully, I'm obligated to point out the error in your comment -- there's technically no such thing as an "incorrect fact." :)

@msu_scrappy: The headline says exactly what the article is about -- the importance of context, and how it was missing from Apel's analysis of the role of gender in the Byrom case. I'll let her speak for herself, but I'm guessing one reason Ronni didn't "attack" anyone else at the JFP because the headline reflected the content of the piece accurately.

*For the same reason, the city should go around and take down ALL the candidate signs that violate the city's campaign sign ordinance. To be fair.*

THAT would be a heckuva jobs program. We could keep folks busy for weeks. :)
