2009

In this town, cash is king. And if you're low on it, you'll find yourself bankrupt. A few mayor … er, major, players think they own this city and are out for your property. Whether you live on St. Ann or Ridgeway, no one is safe. We're all players in the game of Monopoly.

Kaze and McLemore on WAPT

JFP columnist, rapper, Crisler supporter and all 'round man about town Brad Franklin (aka Kamikaze) gave his opinion about the Democratic runoff side by side with acting Mayor, JSU prof, Johnson endorser and former City Council President Dr. Leslie McLemore on WLBT. Out-Of-Town Papers: Ole Miss Flames Out

Here's how some out-of-town papers saw it:

It's all over for the Ole Miss baseball team, which lost to Miami 14-9 Monday night in Game 3 of the Oxford Super Regional. The Rebels gave up one grand slam too many. But the Rebels will still be in the news for awhile. Mike Bianco, a former LSU player and assistant, is considered the leading candidate to become the next Tigers head coach. Herman's Picks

The future of downtown Jackson looks promising with all the talk of out-of-town consultants, the convention center, Farish Street and the King Edward. But not yet, Friday night's show has been rescheduled to next Friday, Nov. 5.

Take This Life and Love It

Take two young men, both of whom write songs, sing and play guitar. Then mix in the Internet. Stuff the guys and what they'll need to survive on the road into a 2000 Chevy Blazer. Be sure they've left their regular-guy, 9-to-5 jobs. Shake, mix and move from town to town, state to state, from across the southwest and Texas, and continue on to the East Coast, then make your way back across America's heartland until you've reached the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. What you've got is the "Death of a Day Job Tour, 2004" complete with Matt Hopper, 25, and Andrew Norsworthy, 28, at the wheel.
