It's Best Of Time Again!
Alrighty all you proud Jacksonians. It's time once more to vote for the Best of Jackson. The first 2008 ballot is scheduled to appear in next week's issue (Oct. 31) of the Jackson Free Press, which means this is your last chance to add your favorite category-we-forgot to the list.

McCain's Debate Stunt Doesn't Impress
No one at an afternoon panel at Ole Miss' Overby Center was willing to stick up for John McCain's plan to ditch the debate. Former Gov. William Winter, Jackson City Council President Leslie McLemore and former Mississippi Republican Party chairman Clarke Reed were scheduled to discuss party realignment in the South, and they mostly stuck to that subject, except to express their disapproval of McCain's stunt.
Mii Fit?
Last time I blogged on here, I mentioned my vacation-oriented Food Court diet disgust and the intense need to buy a Wii Fit. After that went up I went poking online and found a pretty good deal on the Wii Fit setup and ordered it immediately.
Baby Steps
So when we first talked about doing this wellness blog, I was super excited! But I quickly fell off the wagon. And instead of getting up and trying again, I just gave up. But recently I've accomplished some baby steps that I am very proud of. And although right now they don't seem very monumental, if I keep at it, I will see positive change.

Breaking news: Dr. S' spies in Oxford claim — and The Daily Mississippian hints — that Mississippi State students and fans have broken into Ole Miss' computer system and are voting for "Rowdy Rebel" (aka Skinhead Colonel Reb) in the online referendum on a new mascot to replace Slaveowner Colonel Reb. Not that it matters: The vote is non-binding. But some Rebel rooters are frothing at the mouth, anyway.
